['haɪdlbəːg skuːl, englisch], 1891 geprägte Bezeichnung für australische Impressionisten, die sich zwischen 1888 und 1900 in der Künstlerkolonie Eaglemont in Heidelberg (Victoria) und in anderen Kolonien in der Umgebung trafen, um sich der Freilichtmalerei zu widmen. Sie malten v. a. Landschaften, aber auch städtische Motive und Figurenbilder. Zu ihren Vertretern gehören F. McCubbin, T. Roberts, A. Streeton und Charles Conder (* 1868, ✝ 1909), die 1889 in Melbourne mit einigen anderen Künstlern eine gemeinsame Ausstellung (»9 × 5 Impression Exhibition«) veranstalteten. Die Heidelberg School übte einen nachhaltigen Einfluss auf die australische Malerei des 20. Jahrhunderts aus.
